Sydney Ports Corporation has held its first Sustainability Forum this month with all tenants within the Port Botany precinct invited to attend the event.

The forums, which Sydney Ports Corporation plans to hold twice a year, focus on balancing environmental challenges with economic demands. The forums aim to create a platform at which tenants and Sydney Ports Corporation can share ideas and information which may assist in improving port wide sustainability.

The first forum focussed on the key environmental issues facing the port community and what actions should be taken. Special guests included Dr John Hunter from the Antarctic Climate and Ecosystems Cooperative Research Centre who presented on the impacts of sea level rise on ports and Ms Jenny Bonnin from the Clinton Climate Initiative.

Sydney Ports Corporation is looking forward to hosting further forums to work together with tenants on creating ‘whole-of-port’ sustainability strategies.
